  • In-house experience or a secondment background  - candidates who not only have strong technical skills, but who can also translate that advice in a practical, commercial way
  • Senior Company Secretary candidates with a legal background - businesses value the way legal training shapes approach to governance, risk, and regulatory matters

As the market becomes increasingly candidate-driven consider:

  • Moving quickly: Long processes lose candidates.
  • Offer more than just salary – flexibility, leadership quality, team culture, and internal progression all matter too
  • Make a competitive first offer – to avoid counter-offers and delays with top-tier candidates who might have multiple offers.
