Max joined TOM in 2013 and became a Director in 2021.

He leads TOM’s Audit, Risk, Compliance and Legal recruitment teams and manages Executive Search mandates for some of the company’s most valued clients.

The key roles Max recruits include, but are not limited to: Chief Risk Officer, General Counsel, Chief Controls Officer, Chief Security Officer, Chief Auditor, and Chief Sustainability Officer.

Between 2014 and 2024, Max and his team successfully placed over 1,000 experienced professionals into Australian corporates, and they are widely regarded as the leading Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Audit recruitment team in the country.

Outside of TOM, Max is a passionate musician and mountain biker — either playing his saxophone expressively (and loudly) or whizzing through the trees on his "iron horse."

If Max could spend a year learning a new skill, it would be: patience — but if it takes an entire year, he’s not interested!

Sophie joined TOM’s Audit, Risk, and Compliance desk in 2018 after three and a half years recruiting within professional services in Sydney and her hometown of London.

After graduating in Law from the University of Leeds, Sophie opted for what she felt would be a far more exciting career in recruitment.

She places junior to senior-level candidates across compliance and financial services roles.

Sophie is passionate about providing real value to both her clients and candidates — and about making them smile in the process!
Her bright, bubbly nature and positive outlook make her a genuine delight to be around.

If Sophie could spend a year learning a new skill, it would be: learning to dance — all styles, but especially salsa.
