Recent Recruitment Trends

It’s been a sluggish 6 months, continuing a 2-year trend of low recruitment needs. However there have been some greenshoots in terms of:

  • contract work in projects & transformation space
  • demand for financial reporting, financial control, treasury and tax roles has been steady
  • an increase in hiring in the resilient sectors of property, infrastructure, energy and private equity
  • more opportunities in the junior & mid-level space

 

Advice for Candidates

  • leverage your network. This is particularly  important for senior candidates - who are facing high competition for roles - to be able to access hidden jobs
  • only apply for roles relevant to experience
  • expect less flexibility on working from home as companies increasingly shift towards workforces being in the office

 

Advice for Clients

  • speed up recruitment processes at the junior to mid-level to ensure you retain high-calibre candidates who may have multiple opportunities.
