Head of Compliance

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you’ll roll up your sleeves, dive into the detail, and guide business units with timely, risk-based regulatory advice. You’ll play a critical role during the 12 months in strengthening compliance culture while supporting commercial outcomes.

Similarly to most in this sector - the bank is going through a risk transformation journey, as a result this role offers a rare chance to shape and influence compliance practices in an evolving environment. 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert compliance advice on regulatory obligations and emerging risks.

• Oversee compliance input into projects, regulatory change programs, and product development.

• Support with risk assessments and controls development. 

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of around 12 people. 

• Represent Compliance Advisory in governance forums and strategic initiatives.

• Ensure consistent, high-quality advisory support while helping the business navigate complexity.

• Help to uplift the privacy policies and procedures. 

About You

You’re a strong leader who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys working closely with the business to deliver pragmatic solutions. You bring:

• Proven compliance or regulatory advisory experience within financial services, ideally within retail banking. 

• Strong leadership capability, with experience coaching and developing teams.

• A commercial mindset with the ability to balance regulatory obligations and business objectives.

• Curiosity, adaptability, and a solutions-oriented approach.
